I just got the boat and haven't had time to really look it over. It does look like it really opens up the interior. Was it not possible to raise the table up all the way to achieve the roominess? Also, did you have to destroy the table to remove it? Any other modifications. I have not been able to find much that owners have done to theirs.

I did cut the table sideways to remove it. I tried to raise the table to the top of the compression post but it continued to cut into the headroom and led to head bumps and bruises. I was very careful when cutting it, to make clean straight cuts, and with two long slide bolts and a couple of radiator hose clamps I can still use the table. I don't though, use the table. I prefer a chart table that I installed on the port side forward bulkhead, (drop down) to the main table. At any rate, I am very happy to have that space eater out of the boat. good winds, Eric

Is that the head bulkhead that you attached your chart table to? Have you ever seen the head/navigation station on a Beneteau 230? I really think it's the best use of a mostly unused head area that I've seen. The B230 actually looks almost identical(although reversed) in floorplan as the Oday. You should look them up if you haven't seen one. It just doesn't have the headroom.

Interesting use of space, I have to admit that. But my drop down chart table is attached to the forward face of the head bulkhead, and it drops down and the outboard edge of the table rests on the settee backrest, and is quite sturdy.

Eric, I had a chance this weekend to look at the inside of my boat. I have 2 questions. What did you do with that cast(alum?) bracket that the table is attached to? You said you had carefully cut the table so that it could be reinstalled, but I couldn't see how the adjustable bracket could come off. The other thing is, is there a copy of a brochure for this boat online? Mine is a 1989. I'm really looking for a good plan drawing. The only one I've seen online is not too clear.

Hi, My son and I cut the aluminum casting in half with a hacksaw, and discarded it. It was not working anyway. The set bolt was too worn to be of use and the previous owner had substituted a hose clamp to keep the table in place. I have a brochure on my boat, and will look at it, but as you say there is not much out there with any detail that is useful. Good winds, Eric
