I would like to put a bimini on my 2002 Hunter 240. Where are the sources? Is one style preferable over another?

Bimini suggestions

Am also looking for a bimini but for a H26. SBO has a clearance area when searching under canvas/biminis. I saw a bimini for a H24 listed there at a substantial savings. Might check there. Good luck, jim (High Timez, Colorado Springs, CO)

Click on the Store tab here in the Hunter forum. We got a Bimini for our 23.5 there last year, and have been tickled pink.

My bimini is from here, I think (P.O used to post here, and it looks like one from the store here?)
It's nice, but I wish the end fittings that attach to the boat were stainless instead of plastic.

My understanding is the boom is in the way on such small boats. I'm buying a Hunter 25.5 and was told if you have one made where you can stand up, you can't sail with it up. If you want one where you can stand up, you can only use it under motor on in the slip. Is this true as far as you all understand it too?...Also, what can one expect to pay for a 25.5 bimini?

Thanks!

Hi all, On my 240, I took a standard bimini and made some adjustments where I could sail with it up, did not need to move the mainsheet on the boom, and can sit on the stern rail seats. It stores nicely back where I can still BBQ off the back when it is up or down. Instructions are under the Owner Modification section of the 240 page. I couldn't be happier with it. Thanks.

I bought my bimini at this site last season and the service and quality were more than one could expect. I have a Hunter 260 and the top makes the cockpit great for the hot or rainy weather. Dave was most helpful.

On a 23.5, if you stand while coming about, you will get "boomed". I've never measured it, but I'm guessing that the boom is about 5 1/2' above the cockpit sole. So, no, you cannot get a bimini under the boom and expect to be able to stand under it. That's the case with most small boats.

The boat in the slip next to me is one of the new H25. As you can see in the photo, you can sail while standing under the bimini. You can also see there isn't much coverage.
