24 volt electric power

I have a new 240 and am using it in a lake that does not allow any gas engines. Electric is the only motor allowed. We have a 70 lb. motor which is 24 volt. We use 2 12 volt batteries to provide 24 volts. But when charging on a 12 volt charger, I have to unhook them. Can anyone recommend a switch setup to make this charging process easier? Install a multibank trickle battery charger in the boat. Use Marinco Battery Charger Inlet #150BB1 to access shore power with a normal household electrical cord. IF you are not an electrician, suggest that you have the appopiate person to wire your boat

charging batteries

You're probably running the two 12v batteries in series to get your 24v. Put a switch capable of handling the correct amperage between the two batteries, e.g, between positive of one battery and negative of the other. You can then isolate the batteries by flipping the switch off without disconnecting them. You should then be able to charge them individually like you do now.I'd run this by an electrician to be sure.
