that was a z spar mast which you can get the spreader from either this site or U.S. Spars

Hunter made the stern rail seats. I am not sure if they make them any longer but since this site handles all the hunter parts, suggest if they have anyone who will make them for you, call and talk with Dave or Phil. I know there is other information on this site if you only look at the archives.

Hey Doc, I just measured mine in the driveway and the spar itself, not counting the end cap, is 37.5". Just in case you aren't familiar, you can go to US Spars and select Hunter model 23.5 and it will take you to a page listing the original Z-Spar model numbers. Clicking on those will take you to drawings of said parts including part numbers. It helps to identify exactly what you have. The spreader length isn't there, but the part id is. The Z-65 spreader doesn't appear to be available from US Spars, but all of the Zspar parts are all available from Rig-Rite.

For those of you regarding Z Spar and U.S. Spars.

Z Spar which is a French owned company was a major supplier of masts for many manufacturers in the U.S. to include Hunter which their facility was close by to Hunter. In the early 90's they chose to purchase Kenyon Isomat with intent to close the Florida plant moving to Charlotte, NC. Of course Kenyon Isomat laid off everyone and in the beginning Z Spar did not have enough help. This left many in a quandary to include Hunter. I should know as I had a couple of boats without masts for a while and could not sell. Everyone was of course upset with Z Spar. Eventually, Hunter found a new supplier, Selden Masts and it was a great marriage who now sell to Hunter, Beneteau and Catalina.

As for Z Spar, they closed and have not returned to the U.S. for reasons I will not discuss. However, the parts for their masts and booms previously sold can be purchase thru U.S. Spars which in essence are Z Spar parts. Not sure if the same folks who own Z Spar are same owning U.S. Spars. As for parts from Rig Rite, not sure on that as I am a retired sailboat dealer.

As for the small boats, Hunter purchased from other suppliers for one being dwyer. If you need parts, simply look on the mast as most mast manufacturers usally put an emblem or sticker on their masts.

As for Kenyon Isomat, the reinvented themselves to Charleston Spar also known as Sparcraft in the same old facility with the same folks in Charlotte and is also a very good company as well. So if you have a Kenyon Isomat spar, contact Jim Culibert at Sparcraft.

I hope this will explain everthing.

thanks dave...the reason i made this post is that i actually got the spreader rebuild kit from this store but the bars that came were only 36.25 and the ones i have (which i believe are the original) are 38 (including then end cap)....us spars said they sent the length according to the "original specs"
