23.5 Rollerfurling

I am wanting to add roller furling(never did know, is this 1 word or 2)to my 1994,Hunter 23.5. Am considering a CDI,FF1 with BB upgrade. Is this a proper system for my boat? If so , does the forestay have to be shortned for application. Also I have a brand new hanked jib, still in the bag never been unfolded. Can this be modified to fit the CDI system and who would be the best to make this alteration?

CDI furler

Hi Charlie, You'll probably wan the FF2 for your 23.5. I have a 240 and that's what Hunter uses as the factory install. I added my FF2 last spring. A good sailmaker can easily modify your existing jib to fit the roller furler. That's what we did with ours. I wouldn't go back to hanked on now that I have used the furler. Ken

Thanks, Ken, have a CDI on the way, and my jib is on its' way to Sail Care for modifications
