Here's the deal. I've got power to the fixture; I can't "see" any problem with the ground as it tests ok, yet it does not do its stuff, ie the bulb doesn't light (and it is a good bulb) when the metal tab is deflected. I am stymied because I can't "see" any mechanical reason for this, so am I right in assuming it is a "poor contact" that needs cleaning? If that's the case what or how is cleaning accomplished in that little congested hard to reach fixture? I'm running out of ideas. Help!

I had a similar problem with mine.

It turned out to be the switch in the distribution center. If I jiggled it just right the lights came on. After replacing all of the switches everything’s fine. Good luck. Bob Noble SV Miss Lisa

See page 446 in the West Marine 2004 Master Catalog. This is an excellent tool. You can also find it at Wal-Mart in the automotive section marketed by 3M Co for a better price than WM. It is perfect for reaching into the bottom of lamp sockets to clean the contacts.
