23.5 Bimini Under Sail?

Anyone out there have a H 23.5 with a binimi up while under sail? Have a boat ( new to me ) with a bimini that will not clear the main. Look like the mounting hardware could go another foot aft. Your thoughts and experiences appreciated.

It is a Problem

Putting it on tracks might be an option. We have strern rail seats so moving ours is not an option. We just pull in on the topping lift an pull the boom up. Recutting the sail to take off 6" might be an option as well. One sail maker told me he could probably take enough off of the top to clear that way I would not loose so much sail area. The shade is more important than the disadvantages no matter how you add them up.

Topping lift

You have to use the topping lift (line runs from the top of the mast to the rear of the boom) and adjust it so that it clears the bimini when the bimini is in use. I have found the bimine worth its weight in gold on hot or rainy days.Click on the attached photo.
