Thanks Guys
Jeff - it is a 1984 222. We used Awlgrip for the topsides and Interlux Ultra for the bottom. The topsides were put on with an air sprayer, the bottom with a brush and roller. One of the guys at our marina used to paint cars for a living. Needless to say he knows his way around the spray gun. When I bought the boat last summer, it looked like the bottom had not been painted in about 10 years. Since the registration sticker was from 1997, I figure it may have been even longer. I took awhile to get the bottom sanded down (even longer to get all the old paint dust out of my ears), but the boat looks so much better, it was worth it. Prepping the topsides was actually the easy part, although I'm not sure i would have attempted spraying on the red, maybe after a couple of years of practice. - Chuck D
