We are doing repairs on a early 1960's 22' Pearson Ensign. The "End Caps" for the rub rail (where the side rub rails join the stern rub rail on the corners) are missing. We are having a difficult time finding replacements due to the age of the boat. Was told, at one time, there was a company that could cast new ones??? Or try to find them at a "boat junkyard" ?? Any help to point us in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I had the same problem with my Cal; I did come up with the idea of a piece of channel I used to replace both with one & shaped to clear my back stay strap..Dale
Thank you. Unfortunately, the, actual, owner of the boat wants it to look original. I have been told there is a company(but can't find it online) that will make a replica of the one that was originally on the boat. We have been told it was chrome or chrome plated. We are trying to avoid replacing the rub rail, as there is, nothing wrong with the one on there now. We suggested to the owner that we replace with one continuous piece, as to, eliminate the need for the "end caps". It was a "no go". It has been this way for a while, so the owner is ok with being patience while we continue the "search". If it was our sailboat, we would just replace the rub rail and eliminate the need. Plain and simple! But it is not and truly want to make our customer happy.

Thank you, I will try to get a couple pictures when I go to the shop tomorrow. We don't have the original End Caps, they have been missing for years. I can take a picture of the corners, where the rub rail comes together. It should give a pretty good idea of what is needed.
Thank you. I went to the site you suggested, I will give them a call tomorrow. We just saw this company at the Maine Boat Show, in Portland, last weekend. Didn't even think to ask them at that time.
For Pearson and Oday parts, try drmarine.com as they bought up all the Pearson, Oday, etc. parts when they went out of business, plus they have all the records of past parts suppliers. Contact Rudy at D&R if you cant locate the parts you want on the D&R website.
