216 Spinnaker

Is anyone presently sailing with a spinnaker on their 216? Is it Hunter issued?

An email received today from my dealer.

Dear Ernie, after a year of frustration, it appears that there is no end in sight for a real asymmetrical spinnaker from Hunter. So to that end, I'm working with my people at Doyle Sailmakers to build us the proper kite. I should have the final price today, which I will forward to you. Then we can get going, and finally get sailing.

Huh? Not from my perspective.

There is an asym spin avaialble, I bought t from Hunter when I ordered the boat. $1500 kit with retractable bowsprit. I launch it from cuddy - very ez. So far too chicken to put it up in heavy air. Boat moves quite well in light air with kite up. Ez to control.
