My 216 centerboard fix is complete with the field fix. The guys at Norton Yachts in Deltaville did a great job. Basically it looks like a plate with an eye and 2 bolts drilled directly into the centerboard. It works well and as an added bonus has completely eliminated any lurching forward.

have I missed something

Paul, I must have missed your earlier post regarding the centreboard problem, could you tell me why your centre board needed fixing? Thanks Tom

Sure, I will take a few photos and post them. Tom, the cable connected to the board from the hydraulic sheared off the centerboard itself - a potential cause is overtightening the hydraulic. I was unable to raise it as a result. The cable normally is under a tremendous amount of strain even when the board is down. Because without it and going over waves, the board would swing and lurch the entire boat forward - guess i'm lucky it didn't cause any structural damage to the boat or to the centerboard assembly. My 216 is a 2004 - that year and before had problems with the centerboard design. Evidently, this design has changed and makes it less likely that this will occur.
