Much to my disappointment, I am cancelling next week’s proposed rendezvous due to lack of interest. Lou K/O”40 / Sababa

That is disappointing. I think it takes time and a “just do it” attitude to pull off a start up event.

In April I joined 26 Catalina owners an American Tug, a Farr 42, and an owner who came by Washington State ferry for a rendezvous. This gathering has gone on for over 15 years. It’s a lot of organizational work but with volunteers it can be a lot of fun.

Maybe next year.

Have you reached out to any of the O'Day class associations? I'm a member of the Mariner Class Association. Most of the Mariners are O'Days, with the newer ones being Stuart Marine Mariners. We are a pretty active group with our leadership located mostly between Connecticut and New Jersey.

I am one that had to back out, after getting excited about the Rendezvous. A family event (my oldest daughter's Father in Law's 80th birthday celebration), popped up on our Family Calendar. Tough choice, who is more important?: My fun or being there to celebrate a family milestone? Thinking it through, (like a good sailor does), I decided that it would be a much happier future life if I went to the celebration :what:. What would you have done.......?????
