@Captain Larry-DH we used a plastic dust pan. It worked till the cold plastic shattered. We taped it up with duct tape and it worked sorta. That’s when we came upon the possibility of crew expertise and a little broom. That worked great. Had to reheat him a couple of times but he did a tremendous job till we found warmer weather. We were going to feed him any way so no extra expense.

It was only one meal. It was cold and comfort food was in order to replace the salads, salmon, and soup we had been eating. Moderation is my motto.

I used to carry a wide, thick cedar shingle to deal with snow like that. Light weight, easy to store and actually worked pretty well especially given all the nooks and crannies in the sailboat I was sailing at the time. It was easy enough to attach a thin wooden cross piece for support and a short handle making removal of snow relatively efficient.

That would work Dave. Cedar shingles are sure easy to come by up here. Pretty much whole trees are available lying on the beaches.

Do not - Hope not - think we will see any snow on our 2020 Vancouver Isle 360 adventure. But if it should occur I look to your expertise in the matter.
