never been to a boat show yet, the ottawa, ontario one is soon, wondering if anyone been to last years' show, should I look forward to it or is it all powerboat and pontoons ?
I've been sailing in Ottawa for a long time and never been to the boat show. I've always heard it was power only but looking at the list of exhibitors it looks like it is power, fishing and cottage. I don't see anything appealing but if you go, let us know what you think. I've never been to the Toronto show either but it looks like there are some sail related booths there.
Now the Annapolis sailboat show was quite an experience and worth the trip if you can make it.
The website mentions both power and pontoon boats, and vendors for paddle boards are also in the mix. No mention of sail whatsoever. Not even windsurfers. The show layout seems to indicate space for about 40 vendors. There are focus sessions on fishing and how to buy a boat. If I were looking for new astroturf for my pontoon boat it might be worth checking out.
With an unrivaled selection ranging from powerboats, fishing boats and cruisers, to pontoons, canoes and kayaks, the Ottawa Boat Show is the largest boat show in the Ottawa Region.
