Hey Peter...Sorry I have not checked in lately. Diana and I spent a few days on the hook in PB during the world cup...We had a great time watching some of the games in the pub then rowing back to Simply out in the harbour. Great place to anchor and hang out. Met Max and his wife (memory again) while we were there. Wine?????? Oh yeh...I"ll touch base with the operator and confirm..Spoke to Jim and Gloria and he should be in the water at Bellingham on the 29 and crossing to Sucia. Also has dinner with Austin who was on a single handed trip to Pt. Roberts...He will be with his daughter this trip...The talk is Circumnavigation 2012 our (stress our) retirement year....See you soon.
Do you plan to be out somewhere leading up to the Rendezvouw? Diana and I will be on the water from the 24 on...

Brian

I'm not sure if I can pull it together yet, but if I were to fly up for the rendezvous, where would I fly into and where would I get a room?
Thanks,
Ric

Ric,
You could fly into Victoria BC (YYJ), catch a cab to the Swartz Bay Ferry terminal, (about a 15 minute ride), then take the ferry to Pender Island (Swartz Bay to Otter Bay), and cab to the marina & B&B.

Map 1:

Map 2:

Ferry Schedule:

The Port Browning Marina
suggests a B&B for accomodation, The Nosey Point B&B,
Can't seem to get the above url to work, it may be temporarily down, so here's a phone number:
1-250-629-3617, 4606 Oak Street, Pender Island

Hope you can make it!

We are heading out this Saturday to resume the cruise interrupted
three years ago. We plan to be in Friday Harbor for a couple of days
before heading for Port Browning then take a few weeks cruising the
islands before exiting the strait and heading south.

A hui ho!

Hey Chuck / Laura....You must be excited!!! We have finally move Simply Super to a marina that she deserves. We are now at Blaine and, for the life of me, I don't know why I didn't do so sooner. Anyway, we will be heading out next Saturday, probably to Sucia to start then maybe around to Rosario or Steward Island or even clear to Bedwell and over to Sidney...Regardless, try hailing us on 16 as we monitor while on the water.
Take care and see you soon.

From the US...fly to Victoria and get a ferry to the gulf islands (North Pender). You may be able to fly by float plane to Pt. Browing.
