Some food for thought:
We should try to time the 2010 Rendezvous to coincide with times of a Neap Tide. This ensures less current for travellers from both North and South, and flatter ramps at the marina due to the moderate tide ranges.
Anyone who has sailed these waters is familiar with the frustration of ploughing through the water at six knots, but only making a knot or two of progress.
Flipping through my 2010 tide graphs, I see possible some possible dates:
- July 2nd to 5th, coincides with both Canada Day and July 4th holidays.
- July 16th to 18th, falls across a weekend.
- July 30th to August 2nd, includes B.C. Day holiday in Canada.
- August 14th to 16th
- August 27th to 30th, falls across a weekend.
