Our yacht club has a crane for launching small keel boats, but there is a question if the 216 is strong enough without 2 sling straps around the hull. We have been launcing it off the ramp with the car, but this has become difficult. Has any owner of a 216 devised a way to launch with a crane and some type of wire harness that may fasten with 3 or 4 points on the boat, maybe a spreader bar would be necessary to prevent a squeeze of the hull. Thanks!

Your best bet would be a three point bridle that attaches to the shroud chainplates, with the third leg going to the transom.
As for a spreader bar, I'd make one - a piece of 6' galvanized pipe with holes drilled in it to thread the wire through.
Set the transom leg short enough to keep the boat tilted forward and the mast away from the crane!

Thanks! We thought either a 3 or 4 point bridle may work (eventhough not recommended by Hunter)! We may try it!
