The rudder on our 2006 25' has signifigant "play" between the stainless plates that hold it in place. This may be normal, but I have no frame of reference. Ideas?
There was discussion a couple of weeks ago about the rudder bracket actually bending. Mine bent on a heavy wind day a couple of months ago. You can solve the issue by putting a spacer and some bolts between the space in the rudder bracket where the mast crutch goes. This will make it much more secure. Also keep an eye on all the attaching bolts. If the boat is moored they can loosen over time.
I am not sure but I thought I saw some one beef up that model rudder on this forum, check the archives or keep asking here and maybe they will jump in and help you.
well, i've got a query in to Hunter via Backyard Boats in VA. so far, nothing. they told me to send a picture, but the gentleman at Backyard would not accept that answer and told them to go down into the factory and look at the freakin thing and see if it has bushings of some sort on it!!!! they said "oh, ok. we'll get back to you." No answer yet. More later. . .
