2004 Hunter 33 - Yanmar Throttle

Pedestal mounted throttle on my 2004 Hunter 33 with 30hp Yanmar doesn't appear to have out of gear function. No gearbox disengage button or lever evident. Can anyone advise if this is usual or lever has been modified.

I have a 2004 H33 - and it has a small push button at base of throttle handle. It is black, about 1.5 inch dia. Push it in then move throttle to either forward or reverse to change rpm, while disengaged.

Neutral

Sould be a spot in between that is neutral no forward and no reverse so the boat and prop will not engage and like mentioned push in black button and move lever forward to raise RPM's in neutral.

If the above doesn't help, it's possible it fell out. It's a black rubber cover at the base of the throttle with a metal button underneath it. If the black cover comes off, it's possible for the push button to fall off as only the cover holds it in.

I added some silicone adhesive to the rubber cover to hold it on.

Possible that is did fall out. Mine was missing when I bought our boat. Ended up buying a whole kit through Hunter dealer and installed button and black rubber cover. I too used a dab of sislicone to hold in place.
