Hi,
Does anybody have an idea how to route new throttle and shifter cables for a 2003 hunter 306? I tried to do the job myself and now am in a world of hurt.
Thanks,
John

Not sure what part you are struggling with. What part of the job did you get done, or need done.

I replaced mine a few years ago, though a different boat, I'd guess the procedure would be similar. Find the route used by the old cables. They run down the pedestal. Through the deck. Then somehow under to the engine. The cables are stiff so they are like a snake and will easily push through conduit or through a space. The part I struggled with was getting it up through the pedestal. You should be able to take apart the top of the pedestal till you can see the mechanism for the Throttle and shift handles. Frankly don't remember those details, but they made sense once I got down to them and was able to take them out.

If you can forward some details of what you are struggling with I'm sure someone can help with some details.

You have to disconnect from engine tape/tie a string to end and pull out thru pedestal. Then use string to pull back in new cable

on my boat the hardest part of the job was taking the pedestal apart to get access to undo the old throttle cable end , attach it to the new morse cable VERY FIRMLY, then get the new one started slithering down towards the engine...
