2002 Hunter h326 forestay size

My H326 manual state the forestay is 6mm. I when up mast to measure but found no expose forestay wire. It's covered by the Selden Furlex extrusion. So can anyone tell me if I could assume the manual is correct?
I'm looking at a new set of Furlex 100S and need to advise forestay size.

What are the sizes of the other boat stays on your boat? Do they match the manual?

If so you can expect the forestay on your boat to be correct. How old is the forestay? 18 years? And you generally sail in conditions as seen in your avatar? Full of a breeze? Perhaps it is time to replace the forestay with fresh wire. If your going to change the furler new wire is advised. When you take the old furler off you can confirm the size and get the replacement to match. Or order the new furler and wire together. If still not sure perhaps it is a good time to have the forestay looked at be a professional rigger.

John, thanks. As advised, I'll order the forestay together with the furler. If actual wire is different size, it doesn'treally matter, does it? After all I'm changing everything.
