2 Yanmar Raw Water Pump questions

Pulley Gap

OK... Now that I have started putting it back together, I noticed (see picture) that there is a gap between the washer and the pulley. Is this normal? There appears to be something at the top of the nut that stops it from going down any farther down on the pump shafts threads. Is this how is should be?

Look at the washer and see if it has flat in the hole the shaft has flats to turn the pulley or visa-versa it may be not orientated correctly and stoping before it bottoms out on the pulley or you have the incorrect size washer

I would say that the washer is the problem. It should be tight against the pulley.
