2 Battery connections

Hello, My 1979 O'Day 30ft Has only one battery at present but is set up for two, what it the correct way to hook up the batteries so it will work with the battery switch?? Many Thanks

Depends on what battery switch it is? Does it have the posts to connect multiple banks?
Do you want to parallel them to double capacity?
