Hello all,
I'm in the process of adding 4 6v golf cart batteries and the install I’ve set on is 2 above cutlass bearing and two in starboard rear quarter berth aka the "dungeon".
The battery charger is in there screwed to the back of wall thats under the galley sink
I dont know what’s considered "Well ventilated" but it has me asking some questions. Batteries are about 2.5 feet from batteries and there is about 3 feet of space above batteries (for gas to raise to?).
I'm also bringing the neg\positive buss's into this area as it shortens the cabling runs from\to charger and dc panel.
Hopefully moving this stuff into this compartment is ok? It also houses the diesel tank and forced air diesel heater.
I've been reading ABYC standards and my charger is "ok" to be in this area since its not storing gasoline.
I was thinking to add a little computer fan into the comparmenet to insure its air circulation is enough to prevent any gasses from building to a dangerous point.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
-Jared
