ANYONE HAVE INFO AND PICTURES OF A STACKPACK INSTALLED ON A HUNTER 310? WONDERING HOW THE REAR OF THE PACK IS HELD UP WITH NO TOPPING LIFT. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON BRAND ETC. I DO NOT WANT IT ATTACHED TO THE SAIL.

I have the Doyle stack pack on my 310. I had to replace the two spreader to boom cables and install a hydraulic boom vang to support the boom. The stack pack lazy jacks are not designed to support the weight of the boom. Photo attached

Tim my boom is supported from the under side already. What supports the rear of the stackpack? What keeps the rear of it held up? I already have lazy jacks.

Do have a picture of the whole boom? How many lazyjack points hold the stackpack up?

The current Quantum I just installed on my 40.5 and my former UK both had battens which supported the zipper sides of the pack including aft. Is that your question?

I don't have a photo of the entire boom and unfortunately the mast is down at the moment. I have attached a second photo showing the forward portion so between the two you get the whole boom.

The stack pack has four attachments. One is directly off the mast and the others use the existing blocks on the spreaders (the normal is that these are supported from blocks of the mast but, as the spreader blocks already existed I used them instead). You can see these in the photo. Like Rick's quantum the stack pack the Doyle has a batten in a sleeve along the top edge of each side which keeps it straight and supports the aft end so there is no need for a topping lift attachment.

We have a near-new UK Lazycradle. Works great. They designed the 'lazy jack support' lines so that they hold up the full length battens on each side of the zipper opening and do support the covered sail all the way to the end.
It's a good design, imho.
We have no lines to the end of the boom, in any case, altho the main halyard is clipped there to 'lock' the boom into place when the sail is furled. Our boat came with a standard rod vang, which holds up the boom without a problem.
Fair winds.
