Hi, I purchased a 1998 H340 last fall and just recently found that the rub rail on the port side from the middle of the boat to the arch has pulled away about a 1/2 inch. I noticed some white calking in the crack so I am thinking it was a quick fix. I tried hitting it with a rubber hammer but it didn't work. It is very loose. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I had the boat professionally surveyed but he didn't spot this. I am now concerned that the port wall inside the stateroom which has a type of insulation material glued to it to maybe there to hide damage. Hope I am wrong. Ken

I am replacing my 1998 376 rubrail

I have to replace a few sections of the plastic union that snaps onto and then is bolted to the hull and deck jointed on my 1998 376. This might be the same setup as on your 1998 34. Call and you can ask Hunter. The "U" plastic channel which Hunter sells in 8 ft. sections has a lip on the top and bottom edge to catch the rubrail grove. If yours got pulled off it might have snapped that upper and lower edge off the plastic union that is holding it on, hence the reason why it will not stay on. You might have to replace the "U" channel for that section. Ask Hunters tech dept. and they might verify this is what causing your problem. Email me if you wish to discuss.
