I have a 1997 Hunter Passage 42. The Windshield that is in the deck is approximately 7 feet wide needs to be replaced. Has anyone done this? Can you supply a part number and vendor? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 1991 P42, and I replaced my windshield in 2000. I dealt with Hunter, who owned the mold for the windshield. But Hunter contracted with an outside outfit to make all the windshields at the time, and they handled the whole thing for me. I am not totally sure, but I believe that I handled payment directly through Hunter who then arranged the creation of the windshield and delivery to me in San Diego. It came in a HUGE crate on an 18wheeler. And it fit perfectly. While I remember that it was NOT cheap, I can't remember if it cost me $1,000 or $2,000. I'm thinking it was closer to 2K, maybe 1,800 or so.
It fit perfectly.
Hunter might have the name of that contractor. I can't believe that the mold would have been destroyed, knowing how many potential windshield customers are out there.

Hunter would have coordinated the replacement with the original fabricator, who retained possession of the molds. They went out of business some years ago and while most of the patterns found their way back to Hunter the 42 is nowhere to be found. We've been around this issue with Hunter several times and have been told definitively that they are not available.

Hunter states they do not have the mold. Perhaps someone else out there has had one made custom. Please let me know.
