Delivered the new (to me) 1992 Hunter 27 over May 25 & 26 from Holland, Michigan to Chicago. Sailed from Holland to Benton Harbor on May 25, and then crossed Lake Michigan on the 26th to Chicago. My brother took some video on his phone and made a cool video which I wanted to post for any other Hunter 27 owners or others interested. The video is mostly from the first day which was not bad--20kts of wind out of the East, no waves, under reefed main only.
Second day was hell. Crossed Lake Michigan in 10 hours through 30kts with gusts to 35, 8-12 ft waves, and motor issues at the ending. Little boat handled it like a champ, taking most waves to the beam as well. Had double reefed main up and averaged 6.25 kts of boat speed. Video and happy music makes me smile, although was not smiling at the time (more like hanging over the side spewing my guts).

Here's to summer in Chicago!
