And there's more...
I installed a two way valve in the bilge (about 10" behind the transmission) and just behind the valve I installed the electronic pump. I can polish my own fuel by turning on the electric fuel pump and changing the position of the two-way valve. In position two it just circulates fuel though the Racor, pump, and sends it back to the tank.
I can go over to the boat sometime Sunday and take a few pictures if you'd like to see. It's a fairly simple system that works well. I Always pump the water out of my tank Every year but still have to deal with some water.
I added the starter button in the engine compartment since I always want to bump the engine over (or crank it) and would have to short the solenoid.
Yep... Mine is actually, Primary Filter at fuel tank, removed the original small Racor and installed a Truck Filter, electronic pump, 2-Way Valve, to engine (w/Yanmar mechanical fuel pump & filter).
Ken, my pal has a 30' Catalina with a 1GM Yanmar. I think the 1GM is about 7 or 9 hp? We got caught in a 30 knot blow (right on the nose) in the Cape Fear river a couple years ago and he said that he Lost all Steering. My response was, "'Cause you were no longer moving Forward".
