Hi,
I am a new owner and after getting almost all the rigging done after stepping the mast have come to the reefing system. It appears that the reefing lines are different from the images I have found online. I have the lines run as follows:
Out of cockpit under sheave in deck block at base of mast.
Up and over small sheave on forward end of boom.
Aft through double block inside boom.
Forward and over large sheave in forward end of boom.
Down and under sheave in swivel block on spindle at gooseneck for boom vang.
Up and through two rings at cringle.
Down to ring on mast.
The images I found online show the line running under the large sheave at the forward end of the boom up to the sail. I was not able to do this because there in not enough room for a line to be on top of the small lower sheave and under the large upper sheave.
Also, the rings at the cringles bend the line so that it rubs against the sail. This looks like it is only a short matter of time before the line and the sail are damaged.
Any feedback as to correctness, incorrectness, better practice is appreciated.
