Just bought a new boat and st60 windvane instrument. I have an install plan for the wind xducer and cable in the mast but uncertain about cable routing cabin side. I read somewhere that the mast cables run down the inside of the compression post and below the floor plan to the port side electric panel and desk. Any comments, suggestions or photos would be of great assistance

Did you get the Raymarine setup? I'm installing the wind sensor now, running the cable down the compression post, and through the small conduit tube out the base to the bilge area.. the old cable runs down this way, and i'm going to use it as a fish line to run down the new cable. I've installed the iTc-5 above the water tank in the V, and the speed/depth and wind cables will both go there. Then, the Seatalk backbone runs the length of the bilge, under the engine using the existing conduit runs, and up aft of the aft berth to the starboard lazarette where the backbone terminates at a 5-way connector.. from there spurs go to the autopilot, i70, and MFD display on the "pod" on top of the steering pedestal.

If you are going to run speed/depth/wind cables under the sole with the other wire runs, it might be tight in the existing conduit tubes.

Yes RM ST60+, Defender had a deal on that I just couldn't resist. My boat never had a wind instrument, above deck at the mast base what type of connector(s) did you use for the cable ? So I imagine I need to stuff the existing wiring down the compression post before removing the post. I saw somewhere where the wind instrument cable exited the post base via that aft side drain tube (45degrees) then cut a square hole in the floor pan before going forward towards the vberth.

Raymarine suggests not cutting or splicing the cable at all.. so, mine will be run as a solid line all the way to the iTc5 unit.
