No major problems

I have had no major problems with my 45 at all - but - check the backstay chainplate backing plates carefully to make sure they have not started to pull through the deck. When you haul it for the survey, have the yard hit the keel with a pressure washer to make sure the fairing doesn't come off (mine did). Of course, like every Hunter ever built, the freezer and icebox are not adequately insulated - check with me via e-mail on ways to do this. Finally, strongly suggest that you add the water cooling option to the refrig unit - makes a big difference. My e-mail is shfwilf@pacbell.net MC

Deck Compression

Our dock partner from several years ago bought a Hunter 45. Can't tell you what year, but down below the area around the forward bulkhead had some serious stainless steel supports that were refitted to the boat. He told me that Hunter had some problems with deck compression on these models and that the repairs were done according to factory specifications. Can't tell you anything more than that, but you might want to check with Hunter customer service and see if there were any Tech upgrades put out by Hunter for this model.

Prop

I just purchased a 1988 H 45. The current 2 bladed prop is in need of repair. Does anyone reccomend a fixed 3 blade? If so, what size does the job? I am concerned about maneuvering in tight docking situations.
