your uncle really needs to join the C34 IA and keep learning. The answer is that he NEEDS to know which manufacturer of the anchor light is. Usually Perko, but we don't know what hull # he has or the year of the boat, do we? Many of us have replaced the anchor lights with Davis Mega Lights or abandoned them altogether for kerosene lamps on the backstay. Also, he should know what steaming/deck light he has on his boat. It's usually either Forespar or Aqua Signal. If he has a pair of binoculars and can see the mast, with a WM catalog, he should be able to tell the difference. Then, his choice is to buy a whole new fixture or replace the cover part, which is what we did recently. Please, send him to www.c34.org and the Forum/then/Message Board. Unless you wanna keep doing it FOR him forever. If he can't type, have him call me, I'd love to help and even let him know where other C34's are in his area.
