I am looking to buy this boat, but see a small amount of water below the sole. Not everywhere, just in a few places. The broker told me that the water can collect there after a wash down, and that this is common on all the Legends. Is this true?? It seems crazy to me. Any expirience with this "common" problem?

Obviously a Leak.

Either locate it and fix it. Or live with it. This happens with many boats of that generation. Your decision to buy or not buy, as long as it doesn't preclude you from sailing it.

Fresh or salt water?

Are you able to tell if it is fresh or saltwater? In reality there are a lot of places water can work its way into the bilge. Salt water from the packing gland can gather on various spots of the grid when the boat is heeled and may not become evident unyil the boat is heeled on the other tack. It can then work its way into the bilge and should eventually unless there is a dripless seal. Fresh water can come from lazerette leakage from hosedowns, shower drain, icebox or other hardware leaks. This is a 20 year old boat and some caulking may be leaking and the hardware needs to be rebedded. Power washing will blow out old caulk if you are not careful. This is a common problem on all boats, especially one of this vintage.
