I JUST RECEIVED MY 1987 HUNTER 23 AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT THIS YEAR. MY PREVIOUS BOAT WAS A SPARKMAN AND STEPHENS DESIGN: 1968 SAILMASTER 22, WHICH WAS TOTALLED IN HURRICAINE FRAN. WE MOVED TO WINSTON-SALEM THREE YEARS AGO TRYING TO ESCAPE CRUISE-ITIS. NOW WE HAVE THIS BEAUTIFUL HUNTER 23. THE NEW BOAT MANUAL IS MISSING. COULD SOMEONE OUT THERE SEND ME A FACSIMILE? IT WOULD MAKE THIS GIFT COMPLETE. ANY POINTERS? MARK SEATVET MARKSEATVET@AOL.COM "PROCRASTANATE"

I've got one

Hmmm.......no replies? Well I've got one but really didn't learn much from it. Many of the pages apply to other models too. But if you don't get any other offers, I can send you the good pages after the holiday. You'll love the boat..........mine's also an '87 and I love it.

Same here...

The manual IS kinda thin on information for the H23. One word of caution... when you get the manual, don't be fooled by the smiling couple who appear to be raising the mast unassisted! They are paid actors!!! Much has been written in the Smaller Boats Forum regarding the hassle of raising the H23 mast without the assistance of some kind of rig. This is especially true if you have the mast base casting with the main halyard sheave in it (you pull UP to raise the mainsail). The pin and hinge in this casting are weak. Fortunately, several good mast-raising rigs have been designed by H23 owners. Check the archives and Photo Forum (try "H23 mast raising"). Good luck and welcome. Peter H23 "Raven"
