1987 30 MKII Hull 4993 New Owner "Hog Heaven II"

Hello All,

UPDATE: It's official we now own hull 4993. We will re-christen her "Hog Heaven II".

Nels and Darla here. We are putting a deposit down on a 1987 30 MKII today. Then I have to leave to go out of town for business this afternoon. I will be gone until Tuesday. Waaaa!

Hello All,

Trying to get 15 posts to have more "post Privileges".
Anyway, we will pull the boat out next week, Wed. or Thurs. hopefully, when I am back from my business trip.
If all goes well, pay the remainder and be sailing This weekend 11/8/14.

You can find it on Yachtworld, Catalina 30 1987 Lake Lewisville.

We will be keeping it at Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club, on the N. end of the lake. We currently have our Mac at Pier 121 on the S. end of the lake.

We are buying it through La Vida Starships, off of I35 on Lake Lewisville. If you are in the area go see Richard there. He has been doing business from the same location for, I think, 30+ years. He is a hoot and all around great guy.

Kids are Seniors in H.S. so it was time for an upgrade.

In 2024 we plan to upgrade once more, move off to the coast and head around the world.

We sailed the FL Keys for 6 years in our Mac with the boys, while I was working down there.

The boat is in great shape. We wont have to do much to her except some personal touches. I have extra cash to put a gen on it for all the comforts while at anchor.

Looking at either two EU2000's daisy chained or one EU3000. The plan is to mount that on the swim platform while on the hook. The Previous owner put a nice swim platform on the back already.

It has a Mermaid 16.5k BTU system stuffed in the port lazarette. Ice box runs nice and cold and all other systems seem to work fine. (will find out more during the haul out)

The Honda 3000 is to heavy, so Woodster's advice is right on. I have owned 2 ea. 2k's for many years and they are great units! When not running the AC you can just run one gen! Chief

The PO sold or gave away the oven burner, pilot light assembly and mercury valve for the Hillerange model 2122 range. So if anyone has a mercury valve for sale let me know. Suremarine will not sell me one without a core.

Everything else works!!!
