I bought a 1986 Hunter 25.5 last year. I was told the depth guage didn't work, but come to find out it works fine.....You just cant see the guage because the sun has destroyed plastic cover!.....My "knots guage" is almost there too....................and i can see he same thing going on with my compass but not to the expent of the depth guage.......its worthless as it is!!

Can someone tell me how i can find the guages for the cockpit of the boat as i assume being uncovered for years has caused this. Also, where can i find covers to protect the guages from the sun??.......i suppose i could make some.

Any help is appreciated!

These boats did not come with instruments, so it would be helpful if you know the mfg. of the instruments.

They have these headllight restoration kits to polish up the oxidized lenses for about $9.00. You use a drill motor with the supplied buffer and compond. I wonder if that would be worth a try to restore the clarity to the display face.

My Hunter 34 had the instruments supplied by the dealer...they (depth and speed) were Signet.

Making you own covers or using a couple of winch covers sounds like a good idea.
