I just recently boat this boat and I really need a manual. Is there one downloadable like .pdf format? Also the boat did not havean AM/FM radio, I bought one but looking for suggestions on where and how it should be installed. Also I like to add marine airconditioner suggestions where to place it and how to route the ducts? One last question thinking about and icebox conversion. Any thoughts on this subject?

I think they will snail mail or email one to you. I don't know of one online. Look at the pic and see the blue light emitted from the CD player at the nav station. The only disadvantage to this location is you can't use the remote from the cockpit. My A/C is installed under the aft seat of the dinette. Can't help on the icebox. I've got a small ac/dc unit which fits where the range once was. Good luck

Check the resources section

Check out the resources section of this site. There is a H31 manual there. It is the same one that the Hunter factory will send you, and it is at no cost. I mounted my stereo in the first sliding compartment by the nav station, it works for me, and provides some cd storage. As for refrigeration I gutted a dorm size fridge, and mounted the evap coil under the counter in the ice box, the condensing unit is mounted under the starboard cockpit seat, only a little fiberglass cutting was required. We use an inverter to power it while underway, even in last summer's extreme heat the ice box stayed in the mid 50's during the day. This was the temperature monitored near the lid at the top of the box I actually had sodas freeze at the bottom. Just some ideas for you.

a few comments

We have our AM/FM cassette player in the same place as Gary over the liquor cabinet. Have two speakers on either side of the forward end of the salon and two in the cockpit mounted in the vertical wall of the rear lazerette. We use a Coleman AC/DC portable heater/cooler in the aft berth. Don't need Air Conditioning on Lake Michigan. Maybe we'll run into you sometime in Ft. Walton Beach. We have a timeshare at the Marina Bay Resort.

The link doesn't contain a complete manual...

The manual I have is almost half inch thick. The one on the link is just a few pages....unless I'm doing something wrong.

The manual I have is just a few pages too.

Gary: There is very little in the manual that I received with my Hunter 31. I purchased it new. There are a couple of pages for plumbing, electrical and the standing rigging. It was in a small 3 ring binder.

Sound system/AC

Our receiver/player unit is mounted on the chart table inboard surface. The body of the unit takes up a small amount of space inside the table storage area. This location permits operation of a remote control from the cockpit. Our AC unit is mounted in the starboard cockpit locker as far aft as possible. The duct work is more complex than can be adequately described in this forum. Suffice to say that we kept it all within the spaces between the hull and saloon shell and the settee storage area. Cold air return is in the quarter berth. The main output register is amidships under the forward portion of the settee. Numerous smaller vents are arrayed throughout the interior, about 10 in all. Controls are mounted on the vertical surface under the companionway to the right of the battery selector switch.
