Until recently, I owned an '83 Catalina 25. She was an excellent first boat, and I'd recommend her for weekend cruising. Mine was a swing keel model. I didn't know this when I bought her, but if the keel cable snaps when the keel is up, you can tear a hole in the bottom of the boat. There is special maintenance that goes with the swing keel.
