Hello,
I just bought a 22' O'Day pleasure and the owner said it needs a drain plug before I can set it into the water. I have no clue where it would be located.
Can someone point me to the location of where it would be so that I can remedy the situation please...
This was the pic they sent to with the statement that it needed a drain plug.

Wow. There appears to be a big hole at the base of the stern.
I wonder where that hole goes?

On the ODay 22 I used to have the hole in the back was for the deck drain...you don't want to plug that.

You got to admit, it's pretty funny if you look at the picture. You may get the occasional sarcasm but for the most part you will get very good advice here and jssaielm has lots to offer along with his healthy sense of humor.

And congrats on the new boat.

I have never sailed a day in my life...lol...but yes I guess I tend to place a lot of respect on things, and yes I should have started out with the fact this is my first boat... I am all for sarcasm as I am very sarcastic myself, if it really offended me I would have answered the way I thought at first...lol.. trust me I would have gotten hammered hard for it as well...

I take everything with a grain of salt, sometimes, that day he caught me in a different frame of mind and a small filter going...lol

It is all good I am sure, I am just trying to get the boat in the water once I get it down here to TN lol...

I had also purchased a 67 Bristol Corsair lol... I bidded on both of them with hopes of only actually wining just one... now I have 2 lol... so one for Salt and the other for fresh...

I'm rehabbing an O'Day 23. The cockpit drains from a small well at the rear of the cockpit, through one foot of 1" ID hose and exits through a 1" thru-hull fitting at the stern. This seems way too small, even for inland lakes. Thoughts?

(there's a snake in the pic because I was cleaning out pollen and seed pods)

LooseScrew... No offense meant or taken in the exchange... It was just a big hole. I'm not sure it would be plugged or left open... Why I said "I wonder where it goes."

Because, it looked suspiciously like a drain. I have not seen a drain hole in a sail boat, like that one. In the dinghy's maybe. They are more like an inch in diameter. And like power boats they use a drain hole with a plug.

I am curious as to what you discovered when you inspected the boat.

My former boat was 15 ft trailer pocket yacht. Now it was like sailing in a back packing tent. Had a lot of fun.

You’ll enjoy that boat. It can take you on a lot of interesting adventures.

Well that ended pretty bad in a way at 10pk last night... In the way home the passenger side of the trailer, the whole wheel assembly came off on the interstate. Luckily me and Amy are just fine.. since we are in the area, we are headed down to Deltaville Va, to view Loose Screws... I think I will have that one professionally transported back to the house in lol...
Going to do a video when we get there...

Good to hear Amy and you are ok. :)

On the interstate I am guessing you were traveling and a high speed. The wheel came off.
Did you loose the trailer?
Damage your vehicle?
Loose the boat?
Wheel bearings seized?
