1981 34 O'Day Manual with Through Hull Location

Concerning through hulls and locations, on Karma:
- There are two forward accessed from the v-berth that are associated with the head plumbing. Portside is for a direct discharge, Starboard is for holding tank discharge.
- Located under the sole board in the head is a through hull fitting for the depth transducer.
- Aft of that again on port under the settee that backs up against the bulkhead is a fitting for a knot meter. Long since abandoned on Karma.
- Aft of the knot meter under the large port settee is yet another through hull for a raw water intake for the sink.
- In the galley under the sink is the discharge for the sink.
- Last but not least is the through hull located on the port side for the raw water intake for the motor. This is located in the engine compartment and is accessed from the port lazarette.
The holes in your specific hull may vary based on optional equipment installed.
I'm sure that there is some history as to why most through hulls are located on the port side, just can't recall.
