1980 Hunter 27 engine issues

Good afternoon,I have a 1980 hunter 27. and I have two problems, the first problem is that I need to change the oil and have no manual in which to reference, Does anyone know where i can find that? It has a renault 8 hp desel egnine. The second problem I have is i powered it to where it currently is (about 10 miles) and no problems, then when i connected up my secondary battery to the altanator it started to smoke like no ones business after about 10 minues. I could not tell if the smoke smelled like oil or rubber. Has anyone seen this? or have any ideas on what it could be?Thanks for your help, its much appreciated.

Engine manual

I have the same engine (Renault RC8D), but I do not have an extra manual. The manual is short (27 pages), so I would be happy to scan and e-mail it to you. Here's the part for the oil change:recommended oil: 10W30max quantity 1 litermin quantity .35 literoil level is checked by dipstickoil change (change while oil is hot)1. remove filler cap2. remove dipstick3. fill oil drain pump at dipstick opening4. pump out the old oil5. refill with new oil through filler opening6. wait about 5 minutes after filling for oil to run down completely into sump7. check oil level which should be at max mark on dipatick. overfilling causes loss of power and overheating.8. replace filler cap.I also have a customer service phone number hand written into the manualwhich you might want to call: (305)524-5513
