The front hatch on my 1980 27' is beyond repair. The PO put plywood on top after the glass was broken.

In a hasty measurement, I ordered this
https://shop.hamiltonmarine.com/products/hatch-bomar-nibo-alum-low-profile-18-5x18-5-cut-2380.html

It was not until yesterday that I realized that the hatch is actually a trapezoid. The aft measurement is 20.25", the forward measurement is 18.5", and it is 19.5" long.

I cannot seem to find a direct replacement that matches this cut out exactly. Does anyone know of a hatch that would fit without any modifications? Otherwise I'll have to shim the sides and learn how to do fiberglass work quick fast and in a hurry.

Thanks in advance.

There is a post in the H27 owners modifications about installing the Bomar 2092 trapezoid hatch. https://hunter.sailboatowners.com/mods.php?task=article&mid=16&aid=6975&mn=27_75-84.
I couldn't see letting go of $700 for a new trapezoid hatch, so found this one: https://www.atkinshoyle.com/products/hatches-and-ports/xr-200-offshore-cast-hatch.html, at a boat salvage shop. It's not trapezoidal but covered the area nicely. The H27 has a fairly large flat area for hatch attachment so the hatch dimensions don't need to be exact.

Call the store at this SBO site. If I remember correctly, we bought a trapezoidal Bomar hatch for our replacement in 2003.

Is this it? https://www.westmarine.com/buy/boma...e=&network=g&gclid=CIjz-OHM1NICFYa2wAodkQID0Q

That one is too short. I've got 19.5 inches from back to front.

I'm just going to keep the square one that I bought. I'll have to shim the sides but I have an idea that I think will work. I'll glass it on top with some glass patches, sand it down, and paint it when I paint the deck. My idea will also allow me to trim the inside with wood.
