1979 37 Toe rail

Is the toe rail on a Hunter 37 ( Cherubini) made of steel. What I really want to know is - can I weld 316 stainless to the toe rail? Thanks for any help.

Toerail is aluminum.

thanks Ed. I was afraid that was the case. I may bolt a piece of SS angle iron (if such is available) to the toe rail and weld to that.

Crest Aluminum made new toe rails for Midnight Sun a few years ago. They are located in Ohio (The only good thing about Ohio) They were perfect. All 158 holes lined up perfectly.
