Can someone please send me a picture of the backstay with the triangular plate and how it attaches to the mainsheet. The yard just launched my boat and stepped the mast and I'm not sure that it's correct and I have no manual or drawings to reference. I'm supposed to finish rigging her tomorrow and move her out of the yard to a mooring so time is of the essence. Thanks much. Carol

Can you take some pictures of your back stay and Main Sheet? If you do have a triangular plate on your back stay for your main sheet, the bottom of the Main Sheet connects to it via a rigging pin w/ cotter pin, or small rigging shackle, and the top of your Main Sheet connects to an eye strap on the bottom back end of your boom. This is the way my O'Day 222 was set up before I installed a traveler near my companionway. I wish I could be of more help but I'm not all that familiar with the O'Day 22.

Carol (and Joe): the 22, the 222, the 23 and 25 all shared the wacky main sheet set up with the triangular plate. The main part of the backstay (the long part that reaches to the top of the mast) connects to one hole of the triangular plate. The short "tail" piece of backstay attaches to another hole (with the other end attached to the chain plate at the transom), and the mainsheet attaches to the third hole. When setting up your backstay, make shure that the third point (where the main sheet attaches) on the triangular plate points inboard. Seems obvious, but you'd be surprised.
