Oday 25 Living in Edmonton, Boat moored at Gull Lake.
Hey everyone.

Some might remember about a month ago I posted a couple of questions regarding an O'day 20 I was thinking of purchasing in this thread .

As an update, I decided to borrow my Dad's Truck to make the 600km+ trip and also I found a 1980 Merc 4.5 longshaft outboard for pretty cheap.

So that part of the tale is complete.

A new one begins.

Last Saturday my new to me O'Day 20 made it all the way to Edmonton in one piece and now proudly sits in my back alley waiting for next summer.

The boat:

Yesterday, I talked my poor dad into helping me raise the mast. My first ever big mast raise! It was really hard!

And then the sail:

After this - I have but one question (for now): Where does the sheave end of the Boog Vang attach? Am I missing a part? Do you just wrap a rope around the mast and attach it to the rope? Anyone have pictures?

I've had a great time cleaning, plotting, scheming and learning this week. I really can't wait until next summer.

One of the cool things that came with the boat is all the original documentation. I've scanned a few items that I have not seen before searching through this forum's posts.

1976 Gold Medal Fleet brochure. This ended up being a really big PDF (173 Megs) so it might take a bit for you to download. Click image to download.
