1978 30 water tank leeking

The 40 gal. water tank on my 1978 30' O'Day is under the v-berth. The only access is from the top. I have added a clean out port to the top of the tank and checked for any cracks. I could only see about 2/3 of the inside and did not find any cracks. Then outlet for water is on the bottom of the tank. I do not know if the leaking is from the tank or the water line to the pump. The problem is there is no other access to the tank or water line untell it reaches the pump in the head. I am think of cutting an access in the cabin sole to reach the water line and tank outlet. Has anyone else had this problem or have any other ideas.

John, are you sure you are looking at the water tank and not the head holding tank?

If he has added a cleanout I hope he knows if it is a water tank vs a head holding tank!
