1977 Fuel Tank Top Gauge

Hi -
My 1977 Catalina 30 still has the original Tempo 18G Aluminum tank installed but the top gauge is not functional. Has anyone replaced this gauge or is there a way to clean/repair it? I was looking at the sender unit from Catalina Direct but not sure it's a direct replacement for a tank this old?

Not sure either. Check the diameter and the screw pattern.

If you remove the gauge, you will find that it is a simple cork held in a fitting that slides up and down, thus turning the dial on top. You can replace the cork with a new one and it should work again. It might mean opening a bottle of wine, however!

I just bought my boat back and the previous owner replaced it with a Moeller electronic unit. It is not accurate... I would replace the cork and keep it simple
