Have you driven through our yard and the one next to it? There were some boats in our yard when we were last there quite reasonably priced I thought. A nice 37 Endeavour went for way less than what I expected.

The yard is locked after 4 and before 8 weekdays (all boat owners have keys) and only open Sat. in the morning if you are interested in driving through. We should be there late December if you needed to go in after hours. Looking at the boats on stands gives you a good look at the boat and if it goes past that owners will put them in the water if you are serious.

Good luck,

Sum

Boats for sale in the yard

Sum,

funny you should mention that as once I posted the last comment I thought I should ask if you have seen anything interesting in the yard.

I have not been up there yet. I had plans to swing through when I went to Lemon Bay to watch my daughter's soccer game, but work got in the way.

Maybe after Thanksgiving I'll run up there and nose around.

Ok I'll show my ignorance and aging memory. There was a boat very close to ours that was/is owned by a Canadian that was for sale and I thought a good deal but I never looked at it closely. Here is the bad memory/ignorance part. I can't remember what it was only that it was one that people often talk about with respect on these boards. Maybe a Pearson or Irwin or one of the other older popular boats with cruisers. I think he wanted about 30K for the boat and if I remember right it had a new or recent overhauled diesel and possibly new standing rigging. The boat was in the 35-38 foot range I think . I thought it was under priced but maybe it had problems.

I tried calling a guy who lives in the area and has the boat next to ours to ask if it was still for sale and what it was but he has changed his number. I called another guy that is in the yard a lot when not working, but he is on the other side of the state right now on a job. So I don't have any news other than that. The boat was 3-4 boats in on the left past the gate and had a for sale sign on it when we left. Our boat (Margaret Ann)....

... was/is just past it on the right (they sometimes do move boats around in there). If you go and it is still for sale you should find it.

Good luck,

Sum

Sum, I am going to the Fort Meyers boat show shortly but I will try to swing by your boatyard today after I get back, or at the latest tomorrow and see if I can get pics and a little more information on that boat. I will post that here as soon as I can.

As I recall, the mast was keel stepped and so there was no compression post. It was a few years back. I just remember the area had to be rebuilt, which was not that difficult and then he was good to go. If you have the same sort of set up and would like to speak to that owner, I think I can find his email address and you guys and talk directly.

Bill,

thanks for the input. It sounds like a different set up than the boat I looked at. If I decide to make an offer on that particular boat or another Endeavour, I'll inspect that area more closely.
