thanks to everyone who commented on my last post , it was a great help.
I have more questions :):):)

should the knee be straight/level or should it angle a bit , meaning the part facing the cabin is not straight and off a bit from what is attached to the hull , I think I am making sense :huh:

please see attached pictures of the new knee temporarily placed which is straight/ level. The other pic is of the existing knee on the other side which seem to be off set a bit..

Should it be straight or offset? Or does it matter. Maybe I am over thinking this and it does not matter?

You are mixing between the science and the art. The bulk head contours to the hull. The stay comes in and configures to a straight line to to the bulkhead. On a 24 ft boat there is a lot of grace. As boats increase in size the numbers become more critical.
